Steve Crawford Whitmire

Born on February 8, 1957 in Greenville, he was the son of Mildred Holcombe Whitmire and the late Claude Crawford Whitmire. He traveled through the US during his career of truck driving until he retired in 2018. He retired after 20 years as a SPC 4 in the US National Guard. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Debra Whitmire; son Steven Dale Whitmire of Liberty; grandchildren: David Searcy of North Dakota, Jessie Woodall of Liberty, Chance Whitmire of Pickens, siblings: Joe Whitmire (Carol) of Pumpkintown, Vickie Stephens (Roger) of Abbeville, Jimmy Whitmire (Emily) of Pickens, Donnie Whitmire (Doris) of Sunset, George Whitmire (Marisol) of Virginia.

Steve was preceded in death by his father; daughter Jennifer Trotter; and sister Debbie Henning.

A visitation for Steve will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:50 am, at Roanoke Baptist Church, 400 Roanoke Road, Liberty, SC. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with a committal service to follow in the church cemetery.
