Thomas Dale Leatherwood Marietta, South Carolina Thomas Dale Leatherwood, age 59, husband of Peggy Jean Carr Leatherwood, passed from this life Tuesday, June 18, 2014 at his home. Mr. Leatherwood was born in Brevard, North Carolina and a son of the late Myrtle Owenby Leatherwood and J.D. “Bud” Leatherwood. He was employed with Greenville Technical College for over 17 years. An avid outdoorsman, Thomas enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a great love for his family. Survivors include his wife Peggy of 34 years, a daughter Joy Phillips of Alabama, two sisters; Ardith Stone of Welford, Joyce Yates of Pickens, one brother; Arthur Stephenson of Greenville, two grandchildren; Kanyon Phillips and Karley Phillips both of Alabama, six nieces, four nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews. Mr. Leatherwood was predeceased by his parents, one brother; Douglas Leatherwood and a niece Casey Leatherwood. Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 PM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Dillard Funeral Home. The family is at the home. Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Leatherwood.
