Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Charles and LouEllen Gilstrap. Graduate of Easley High School. Billy worked in sales. He enjoyed cooking and sharing recipes. Billy's companion Daisy ran the house and became " Dog-in Charge." Billy loved his church family at Mt. Carmel Baptist. He also gained precious friends at Manna Post Acute-sharing his testimony and belief in Jesus. His family is grateful to the staff at Manna and Crescent Hospice.
Surviving is his son James Gilstrap of Athens Georgia, sisters Kathy (Ray) Nevins of Easley S.C. and Linda (Daryl) Robinson Liberty, S.C.
Private memorial will be held at Dillard's funeral home Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 3:30 pm with burial at Rock Springs Baptist Church.
