

Lexington, SC – Zacchary Lyle “Zack” Pace, 45, husband of Heather Dunlap Pace died Saturday, July 18, 2015. Zack was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and teacher. Zack was born in Anderson, a son of Jacqueline McCollum Pace and the late Terry Allen Pace. He was a graduate of D. W. Daniel High School Class of 1987, attended Furman University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of South Carolina in 1995. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Zack taught at Pelion High School and previously served as band director of both White Knoll High School and Midland Valley High School. Zack started the band program at White Knoll. Under his direction, the band went on to win many accolades for their performances. As a Revolutionary War re-enactor, he served as President of the 2nd South Carolina Continental Regiment. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Heather Pace of the home, a son, Robert Terry Pace and a daughter, Emily Caroline Pace, his mother, Jacqueline M. Pace of Clemson, brothers; Jonathon Pace of Clemson, and Daniel Pace (Rachel) of Greer, and a sister, Anna Westbrook (B. J.) of Easley. A memorial service for family and friends will be held 11 AM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Red Bank United Methodist Church in Lexington. A gathering of friends will be held at a later date.
