On June 12, 2021 Alicia was met by her best friend TJ on the rainbow bridge. Alicia was a noble animal lover, volunteer, rescuer and dog handler. She worked locally as a volunteer at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh PA. Those who knew Alicia knew how generous and caring she was especially when it came to the welfare of animals. Alicia worried about the homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused ones the most. Her ability was to get the most vulnerable terrified dogs to open up and trust her and she did just that.
Her passion for caring for both people and fur babies was evident in every waking moment. She was beautiful inside and out and had a loving personality. She had an extraordinary heart, wonderful smile and compassionate spirit. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. As a young child and with her parents as role models, Alicia grew to love the shelter animals, especially the dogs. She began volunteering on her own the day after her 13th birthday. By her 18th birthday, she had become an avid dog walker and voice for dogs who were most challenged. In college, she even advocate for pets on campus. Alicia's passion for the animals has always been visible, vibrant and clear.
Alicia was a graduate of North Hills High School and a graduate of Allegheny College. She was working as a customer service representative for Accredo Specialty Pharmacy.
She leaves behind her loving supportive parents who took immense pride in all of her accomplishments; Her father William Drosendaul (fiancé Sharon Faulkner), mother Karen Grant (John Murdock).
She will be missed by her grandparents' Jon and Aileen Drosendahl, her aunts and uncles Beth and Mike Zak, Mathew and Bethany Drosendahl and Barbara and Dwayne Colvin.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Brian and Joanne Grant and her loving fur baby companion TJ (pictured with her).
The Alicia Drosendahl Summer Camp Fund has been established to honor Alicia's life long passion for sheltered animals and to encourage that same passion in other young animal lovers. Alicia's Fund will also underwrite an engaging and educational experience for all campers. Donations to support the fund are welcomed at any time. Animal friends may choose to fundraise for this fund to prolong is solvency and ensure future support for the summer camping program at Animal Friends.
