

James Edward Morrison Sr., of Franklin Park, was called home to be with his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, on Saturday June 11, 2022. He joined his wife of almost 62 years, Evelyn Herring Morrison, who passed away on October 18, 2021. James was born in Pittsburgh on January 22, 1935 to Adam and Minnie McIlrath Morrison. James was a 1953 graduate of West View High School. In his early career, he was a store manager at Western Auto, bank teller at Mellon Bank, and then an outside insurance salesman for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. James is survived by his sisters Sally Perkins (Wayne) of Evansville, Indiana and Judy Morrison of Batavia, Illinois. James was a good father to James (Jane) of Clayton NC, Amy (Troy) of Baden PA, and Neil (Diana) of Chapel Hill NC; grandfather of James III (Alexis), Adam (Katherine), Zachary, Tyler (Alexis), Lauren (Trevor), Ian, and Eva Caroline. James recently became the great grandfather of Levi Carter Morrison, son of Adam and Katherine.
James met his bride Evelyn at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church (North Side, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and the two were married on October 23, 1959. In his earlier years, James enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, and keeping chickens, goats and geese.
Family and friends will be welcomed to a small memorial service on Thursday June 16, 2022 at 10:00 am, where burial will follow at the Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15101. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to the Salvation Army or Society of St. Vincent De Paul - Coraopolis.
