

John James Fabac (Senior) of Ohio Twp. passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at age 86. He was born to parents John and Mary Fabac on Oct. 29, 1931, in Pittsburgh. He grew up as the eldest of three and graduated from Duquesne University. He served in the Korean War and later worked at KDKA television for many years as floor director for news programming. He also owned a movie theater in Wexford with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son, John Fabac Jr. (Chuck Beard); his daughter, Jana Schemm (Jeff); his stepdaughter, Tina Hilliard (Loran); his stepson, George Haburjak (Donna); and five grandchildren (Ian and Jiana Schemm, Emily Haburjak, and Tyler and Logan Hilliard). He is preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Weidner; and his brother, Frank Fabac.
A military service and interment will take place at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on July 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wreaths Across America (wreathsacrossamerica.org), specifying the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies (PANCAB).
