To the family of Bernard  Waldron -  I was a first cousin of Bernard.  My mother was Agnes Herbst and a sister of Elizabeth Waldron.  Mother married George Laurent and had four girls.  They lived in McKees Rocks until 1930 when they moved to Michigan and then settled in Indiana.  I have been  married to Gale E. Coons for 67 years and we have 3 sons and a daughter.  I was able to spend time with Bea and George Boucek at meetings.  We also visited with your Agnes the last time in Pittsburgh.  I also had a sister Agnes.  Sadly, I am the last survivor of our family.  I just wanted to let you know that Bernard still has at least one cousin living!  My love to you all.   Adele, 11163 Easy St., Fishers, IN 46038

Bernie was my first manager when I joined IBM as a Customer Engineer in Pittsburgh in 1961. He was one of the very best that I ever had throughout  my 25 year career.  He cared about us,  both as employees and as persons.

I started out at IBM as a dispatcher and Bernie was the first manager that I had the pleasure of dispatching for.   I remember him as being a kind and considerate man.   I really enjoyed working with him.

I remember Bernie as a great Lions member.  He was always very supportive of Lions projects.  He was a positive, thoughtful person and he was truly a shining example of a perfect gentleman.  He will certainly be  missed but never forgotten!

I will also think of Bernie as "Lion Bernie." He was a great Lion and I worked with him  collecting glasses from our Sun City West community. Lion Bernie wrote the newsletter, hosted the Lion Christmas party at his retirement community, helped with the "Food baskets" at the holidays and many other Lion activities. He will be missed.  We have lost a great man and I know that he is now in a better place with his loved ones.


Being away from Phoenix the past 16 years, I missed out on so many family gatherings. Some of my favorite memories are from holidays spent as a kid at Aunt Irene & Uncle Bernie's home in Sun City West. They both always made us feel welcome and special.  Uncle Bernie is the kind of man I want my son to be. He will be missed and always loved.

I will always remember this amazing man and the times we shared together. Uncle Bernie was a shining example of what a gentleman should be. He taught us all about kindness and respect and the value of family. He will always be in my heart.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family during this time.  I will miss seeing  him, when we return to Arizona in the fall.  He was a very special man and a good friend of my parents when we first met him in 1981.
