

Paul L.F. Sun, a hard-working, devoted, beloved, and mischievous soul, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by his family as God called him home. He was a resident of Wexford, Pennsylvania.
Paul was born in Anhui, China, on February 15, 1934. He graduated from the Agricultural College of Taiwan and earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin. His career was distinguished, serving as an Agronomist and Director of Research for Dairyland Seeds in Clinton, Wisconsin, though he preferred to be known simply as a farmer.
Married to Linda Sun for 61 wonderful years, Paul was a devoted husband. He was the cherished father of Hans Sun, who is married to Irene, and the late Ming-Ming Sun. His grandchildren, Emeth, Yohanan, Khesed, and Tobiah, knew him affectionately as a grandchild spoiler.
Paul's love for his work was apparent as he continued researching plant genetics into his 80s. Sharing his heritage was important to him, and he passed on his knowledge by teaching Chinese to his grandchildren.
A man of faith, Paul was a founding member of the Madison Chinese Christian Church in Madison, Wisconsin. He served as a deacon at Peoples Church in Beloit, Wisconsin, and later at Rock Valley Chapel Church, also in Beloit. Additionally, he was a founding member of the Rockford Chinese Christian Church in Rockford, Illinois, and finally a member of the Pittsburgh Chinese Church.
Paul's life was a testament to his values and passions, and he is fondly remembered by his family and community. His legacy as a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, and community leader will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Pittsburgh Chinese Church 8711 Old Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on Wednesday February 25th at 11 AM. A burial at Allegheny County Memorial Park will follow.
