The world was blessed on April 12th, 1939, when Alfred Roy Hogrefe Jr. was born in Long Beach, California, to Alfred Roy Hogrefe Sr. and Delores Mae Knori. From the beginning, Alfred carried a presence of strength, resilience, and quiet grace that shaped the extraordinary life he lived.
On February 16th, 2026, Alfred passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love—leaving this world with the same calm dignity with which he lived every day.
Alfred proudly served his country as a United States Navy veteran aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, embodying honor, commitment, and courage. These values stayed with him throughout his life and were reflected in everything he did.
In 1980, driven by a relentless work ethic and vision, Alfred along with his partner founded Placerville Glass, building a business rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and dedication. His work was a source of pride and a reflection of the high standards he held for himself.
On November 25th, 1982, Alfred married the love of his life,Lynda Blanco, beginning 44 years of partnership filled with devotion, loyalty, and a deep, enduring love. Their marriage was the heart of his life and a testament to true companionship.
Above all, Alfred was a family man. He loved without conditions—showing up, supporting, guiding, and giving with a full and generous heart. His greatest joy was found in the family he cherished.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Hogrefe; his son,Aaron Sanchez; his daughter, Danielle Anderson; his nine grandchildren; and his twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Dutton, along with two nieces and two nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, brother-in-law and two grandsons, who he now joins in eternal rest.
Alfred leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love. To know him was to admire him. To be loved by him was to be blessed. He is so deeply loved and truly missed.
His life was a gift. His memory is a treasure. His legacy will endure in every heart he touched.
