Dennis P. Clinton

Dennis spent his early years in Carmel Valley where he attended school at the Carmel Mission. At age 9 his mother packed him and his two sisters into their Jeep (which had once belonged to John Steinbeck) and moved the family to Placerville. Dennis attended El Dorado High where this love of adventure led him and his friends into multiple hair-raising experiences too numerous to list here. Pushing the limits was tested when he got his dream car, a Porsche 911, and promptly got a speeding ticket for attempting to break the sound barrier. He had a lifelong love of animals, which he inherited from his mother, and there are several “woofs” waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge. Dennis was a contractor who took great pride in his work and in the 1960’s he worked at Aerojet on the Polaris rocket. He loved football and movies. He exhibited a tremendous amount of generosity and had an outstanding sense of humor. He was the strongest man known to everyone around him, both physically and mentally, and his inner strength served him well in this last year.

He is survived by his wife Melinda, his daughter Denise, sister Deborah, nieces Stephanie, Kelly, Amber and Aimee, and nephews Kevin, Tim and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillie Allison, father Forrest Clinton and sister Mary Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Loaves and Fishes, Sacramento. An Everlasting Memorial has been set up in Dennis’ honor.
