Eleanor "Ellie" Millar

August 24, 1925 - January 24, 2016

Eleanor Millar passed away peacefully in Sacramento on January 24, 2016. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Stanley M. Millar, Jr. (2014). Eleanor is the loving mother of Gayle (Michael) Wagner and Judy (Dave) Brown. Devoted grandmother of Tyler Brown and the late Richard Markell, II. One of ten children, Eleanor is predeceased by brother Raymond and sisters Helen, Lorraine, Margaret, Irma, Verna and Naomi and is survived by sisters, Lois and Gladness.

Eleanor was born in Livingston, CA on August 24, 1925 to John and Bertha Richter. She grew up in Placerville, graduating from El Dorado High School. Eleanor and Stanley married in 1946 in San Francisco before moving and living in Sacramento for the last 67 years. They had a great love for Lake Tahoe and the family remembers the yearly camping trips there. Eleanor will be remembered for her strong Christian Faith and for being a kind, generous and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Private interment has been held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Diamond Springs. A Memorial Service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA.
