Marie Elizabeth Snider, born in Turlock, California on June 2, 1926, passed away October 23, 2011 in her home in Diamond Springs. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Ray; brother, Jack Dessel, of Dinosaur, Colorado; sister, Agnes Mock, of Lake Oswego, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susanne Shepard, in 2002.
After her retirement in 1986, following 20 years of service at Bank of America, she traveled extensively with her husband. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Placerville and a member of the church's Ladies Society, faithfully supporting the charitable activities of the organization and the church. Marie was very selective in things that held her attention. During her life she was able to dwell on and enjoy the beauty of life while suppressing the unpleasant. She was very talented in the creation of beautiful things through her sewing, stained glass work, and other activities. The important things to Marie during her life were her family, her church, teddy bears, cats, birds, flowers and plants. She will be painfully missed by all who love her.
