

He was born on July 2, 1944, to Warren James Gilmore and Joanna Jane Harper in Lodi, California. Robert was raised with love by his parents, Emil Buzzetti and Joanna [Harper] Buzzetti. Robert leaves behind his sister, Cindy [Buzzetti] Bennetts, to cherish their memories together.
Robert joined the Air Force after graduating from Calaveras High School in San Andreas, California in 1962. He proudly served for twenty years, completing two tours in Vietnam. Over the course of his service he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant.
Robert was involved in Back Country Horsemen of California for thirty years. He taught gun safety courses for over thirty years, including working with local Boy Scouts of America troops and the Big Horn Gun Shop in El Dorado, California. He loved camping every summer in Robbs Valley in the Eldorado National Forest.
Robert married his high school sweetheart, Dina Child in 1962. Together they had three children: Stacy [Gilmore] Kilpatrick, Robert Daniel “Danny” Gilmore, and Mark Gilmore.
Robert married his loving wife and long time companion, Carolyn [Webb] Lekberg in July of 1993. While they didn’t have children, they loved raising horses and other animals on their ranch and traveling together. A frequent favorite was traveling to Mule Days in Bishop, California.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughter Stacy, son Danny, daughter-in-law Shawn, step-daughter Susan; 7 grandchildren (Drew, Adrianna, Jonathan, Jeremy, Grace, Bryanna, Joshua); 7 great-grandchildren (Theodore, Eloise, Lily, Benny, Andrew, Aspen, and Adeline); sister Cindy; brother-in-law Steve; and ex-wife Dina.
He was preceded in death by his father Emil, his mother Joanna, and his son Mark.
Services honoring Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Rd, Placerville, California. A viewing will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a service from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Robert will be laid to rest beside his father at their family plot at Buena Vista Cemetery, 186 Cemetery Lane, Murphys, California.
