Roberta Agnes Farley (Pat) was born to Robert and Agnes Buzza on February 5, 1916 in Sacramento, California. She was welcomed into Heaven on the morning of April 14, 2013 after a quiet, final visit with beloved son Robert and his wife Maryanne. She was ninety seven years old and lived a full life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to many.
Pat built a life and raised a family with her husband of over fifty years James “JC” Carlisle Farley. Together they served this great country through the United States Navy and Southern Pacific Railroads during World War II. Their patriotic and civic duties took them many places until they settled in their dream home in beautiful Council, Idaho. Pat spent her retirement engaging in favorite activities; cooking (lots of wild game and fish to be had with “JC” around), crocheting, amassing a huge collection of Avon bottles and owl “bric-a-brac”, or playing a spirited game of “Aggravation” with her grandchildren. Pat’s life was characterized by her service to loved ones, friends and neighbors. Her dedication to volunteer work in the community and at church won her the title of “Woman of the Year”.
Pat later relocated to Placerville, California to be closer to family. She continued her volunteer work at Snowline Hospice until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Pat is predeceased by her husband James and her grandson Jerry. She is survived by her only son Robert, his wife Maryanne, grandchildren Richard Farley and Dianne Heidemann and their families, step grandchildren Sean and Erin Denny and Susan Wilder and her family and her devoted caregivers Russell and Rebecca Friend. She will be greatly missed by all who she has loved and befriended.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2pm, Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, Placerville, CA. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made, in Pat’s name, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1455 Response Rd., Suite 190, Sacramento, CA 95815, alz.org. Online condolences may be posted at chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
