

With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Steven Ebert who passed away on January 23, 2012. Steve was born April 10, 1952 in Oakland, CA. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Ebert, mother Irene Ebert, and brother Gary Ebert. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Carol, daughter Jennifer, son Brian, and grandchildren Emily, Evan, and Madison.
Steve was raised in Sacramento and graduated from El Camino High School in 1971. Steve and his family moved to Pollock Pines in 1994 to enjoy the small town atmosphere and clean mountain air. Steve developed his strong work ethic early in life starting his first job at 13 as a Sacramento Bee carrier. At 15 he worked as a mechanic at a neighborhood service station. Steve worked for 20 years at Thomson-Diggs Company, owned his own business for a short period of time until 1997 when he started his career in Parks and Recreation where he worked at Fulton-El Camino Parks and Recreation as Parks Superintendent and General Manager. In 2005 he was hired as a Park Superintendent at Cordova Recreation and Parks. Steve had a commitment to excellence and took great pride in teaching his skills and knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn.
Steve was dedicated to his family and community. He coached College Glen Little League, British American Youth Soccer, and the River City Youth Soccer League. He enjoyed camping, jeeping, hiking, fishing, skiing and passed on his love of nature and the outdoors to his children and grandchildren.
A private ceremony in Steve's honor will be held for his immediate family and friends. While Steve will be deeply missed by all of his loved ones and many friends, we cherish our precious memories. He will forever be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association , the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice .
