Born-September 12, 1928
Died-April 18, 2021 at 92 years old. Dorothy was the daughter of Josephine and Joseph Parisi. She was the second youngest of eight children; Josephine, William, Joseph, Angelina, Nicholas, Grace and Charles Parisi. Dorothy was the beloved wife/friend of Joseph Vetri with whom she had four children; Barbara Gilbert, Bruce Vetri, Paul Vetri and Dara Campbell. She is survived by nine grandchildren; Julie Macatee, Doreen Oliver, Nicholas and Robert Vetri, Angela, Jessica and Joseph Vetri, Kevin and Cora Campbell and three great grandchildren, Carley Oliver, Jenna and Jack Macatee. Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, New York of Italian Immigrant parents. Although she was a child of the depression she lived a fruitful and meaningful life. Dora married Joe in 1950 In 1962, the family moved from a two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn to a brand new house in Old Bethpage. The family prospered, multiplied and lived the American dream in Suburbia with Dara being born in 1966. Sadly, Dorothy and Joseph divorced in 1980. Dorothy stepped up to the plate and following in her mother’s footsteps, operated a successful business from 1980 to 2000 while earning her GED. She retired and in 2005, moved to an over 55 community where she lived the rest of her life. Dorothy was a beautiful Italian Goddess inside and out. She took care of the family while enriching the lives of all those she met and always looked on the bright side of life. She lived a full life and possessed dignity and grace. She loved and was loved. She is an Angel and is finally where she belongs.
