Betty Lou Wallace was born on March 3, 1952 in San Diego, CA to Clarence and Lola Pemberton. Betty went to some college but spent most of her time as a stay at home mom watching after her daughter Becki. Betty was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and extremely proud to be married to a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer. Betty loved her family and friends but she avoided being the center of attention. She would much rather be doting on her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and gardening. But if there was one thing that Betty did that made her the center of attention, it was cooking her famous brisket and buffalo chip cookies. All of Betty’s family knew that if she was making a brisket, they were in for a real treat. Betty is survived by her husband Steve Wallace and her daughter and son-in-law, Becki and Bill Najm. Betty is also survived by Jason and Carla Wallace, her step children. She is survived by her sisters, Sue Conrad and Linda Jones, as well as her four brothers. Betty’s legacy will live on through her grandchildren: Jacquelyn Trammell, JoElle Trammell, Zachariah Najm, Daniya Najm, and Nadia Najm. A service will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on June 20, 2013 at 10:15 AM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to The Covenant House.
