Candie Jo Mendez passed away surrounded by family on July 19, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jarrett E. Gibbs, Sr., and JoAnn McGee.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of over 30 years, Marshall Mendez, her children Tim Gibbs (Crissy) and Samantha Mendez, two grandchildren, her brothers Jarrett E. Gibbs, Jr. (Jennifer) and Rodney Gibbs (Christina Massood), and numerous other family and friends.
Candie had a huge heart and a big personality. She gave so much joy to everyone around her. She loved making people happy, she enjoyed crafts and board games, and Christmas was her favorite time of year.
A Christmas-themed celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 8, at 12:00 pm at Ted Dickey Funeral Home at 2128 18th St., Plano, TX 75074, followed by interment of her ashes at Plano Mutual Cemetery. Festive attire (including ugly sweaters) is optional.
