Carol Beth Holt

Carol was preceded in death by: Foy and Letha Covey (father and mother), Letha June Covey Cobb and Foy Don Covey (sister and brother), and Curtis Holt (husband). Survived by Mack and Prani Covey (brother and sister-in-law), Helen Covey and Geneva Boyle (sisters-in-law), nieces Letha Prani Covey, Abby Leigh Boyle, and Tasha Lentz, and nephews Don and Frank Covey and Pat and Kevin Cobb

She attended New Deal School and later got her degree in accounting from Texas Tech. She worked for Lubbock National Bank for years and headed the mortgage loan department. During this time Carol got her private pilot’s license and flew extensively. She owned her own airplane and competed in the Powderpuff Derby – a cross-country navigating/speed contest for female pilots.

Carol later worked for Wells-Fargo and was in the mortgage loan department at Lubbock. Her husband Curtis passed away in 2009.

She suffered two debilitating strokes in 2018 and moved to Plano to live with her brother and sister-in-law. She had another stroke on February 4 and passed away from the stroke’s effects on February 10. She was loved and cherished by everyone who knew her.

A visitation will be held on February 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Plano East Church of Christ, located at 3939 Merriman Drive, Plano, Texas, 75074.

The funeral service will follow on the same day, starting at 12:30 pm at the same venue.

A committal service is scheduled for February 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Lubbock Cemetery, located at 2011 E 31st St, Lubbock, Texas, 79404.
