I was sad to learn of Uncle Cas's death. He was always so fun to be around, so full of life. He loved to joke around. I know he gave his sisters a lot of teasing. He had a wonderful laugh and we enjoyed his jokes too. I fondly remember how he used to magically pluck a quarter from our ears. When he would come to LaPorte, he and his brothers Stan and Al would entertain us with their music. I recall that Aunt Maureen told us that he had a special room in the house where he would play music and record himself.I wonder if the tapes still exist? My mom told me that he was so excited to be a grandpa.At the age of 80, he was a little worried that it might not happen soon enough.  I am sure that he was the best kind of grandpa. I know that he loved his family. I know that he will be missed, but at least he went peacefully at home. Hope he is doing a polka in heaven with his sister,(my mom) Mary.

 The grandkids loved playing the fun games that Cas would invent; where they would win Treasured Coins.   He was so happy to announce he was a Grandfather and was very proud of Madeline and Christopher.

I am lucky and thankful to be his son.  He was there for me and all his family his entire life.  At the end he cared for our mom beyond what you could ask of any man of any age.

He is a gifted man of science, philosophy, history, nature and arts that sparked all of the interests I've had in my life.  

I miss my dad so much and just pray that he is now in peace and able to reunite with family who departed before him and watch over the family that loves him so much.  I love you dad.

My Uncle Cas was an amazing joyful man of God, always kind, always joyful. When he visited us as children, he was always eager to play with us, tease us with jokes, and entertain us with his many talents! In our adult years, he always shared his personal interest in what we were doing, our dreams and hopes, and gave us every good word of encouragement and support. He never missed a family event.  Family meant the world to him.  Everyone LOVED Uncle Cas ! We were blessed to have such a kind and loving Uncle. Will remember him always with great love and admiration.

From the beginning when I met him, Cas took me in as his own daughter and made me feel part of his family. He was the perfect gentleman and cared for everyone. I'm so happy and honored to know such very intelligent and talented man. I will cherish so many memories of our dinners together, watching him play with his grandkids, and listening to him play the piano and the accordion. We all loved him so much and will miss him dearly. Now that he is in heaven, I know he is still looking after all of us.

Uncle Cas a great uncle to have.  Such a tease but also helpful.  Taught me how numbers worked and constellations.  He and my aunts who were not much older than me, put up with a brat (me) while we lived at grandparents home while my father was off to the war. Brenda Payne

I have such wonderful memories of Uncle Cas.  When he visited, lots of laughter came with him.  I enjoyed his wit and his passion for music.  When I spoke with him, he talked about his family with such pride. My deepest sympathy to Aunt Maureen and the boys, Danny, Mike, and Brian and their families. He loved you all very deeply. He was blessed with a long, healthy life.Rest in peace Uncle Cas. I hope you are in heaven playing golf with Uncle Stan and Uncle Al.

My father was the most selfless man I ever met and taught me everything about what being a man should be - I am grateful that he was my father and  he will always be in my memory.  Earth's loss is Heaven's gain.
