

Despite many family obstacles in early childhood, Everette excelled in school, often achieving top honors on the Dean’s List. He attended St. Paul High School in Malakoff, TX, graduating in 1966. Everette attended Prairie View A&M University for a short period of time before volunteering for the Army Draft. He served in the Vietnam war and received a Bronze Medal of Honor for his exemplary service.
Following his military service, Everette began his studies at Bishop College (Dallas, TX) in 1969 and graduated in 1972 with a B.A. Degree in Political Science. In 1978, he graduated with a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Texas.
Everette pioneered and broke barriers for himself and others while being a devoted employee of the Internal Revenue Service. Throughout Everette’s tenure with the IRS he held various leadership roles including Front Line, Branch & Division Chief Manager, Senior Program Analyst, and Executive Assistant to the first African American Regional Director within the Southwest Region Everett’s Post of Duty included Dallas, TX,
Jonesboro, AR, Anchorage, AK, Seattle, WA, and Indianapolis, IN.
Everette worked as one of the first Frontline African American managers in the United States (Dallas, TX). He also served as a dedicated member of the Association for the Improvement of Minorities (AIM-IRS). Everette’s commitment to mentor, train and develop women and minorities within the organization earned him numerous awards and accolades over the years. Everette retired in 2005 upon successful completion of 38 years of Public Service.
Everette has always exercised great faith. He was a long-time member at Hamilton Park UMC where he was an active advocate and member of the Higher Education Committee. In 2018, he joined One Community Church (Dr. Conway Z Edwards, Phd., Lead Pastor Plano, TX ) and was a member until death.
Everette is preceded in death by his Great-Grandmother Mary Shepard, his Grandmother Ida Hobbs, and his mother Rosemary Hobbs-Madison.

Love Jr, and (Son) Christopher (Andrea) Love; His Grandchildren, (Granddaughter) Jasmine Kelley, and (Grandson) Justus Kelley; His siblings, (Sister) Prince Esther (Brother in law, Freddie) Hanks, (Sister) Judy Williams (Corpus Christi, TX), (Brother) Thomas (Sister in law, Janice) Lightfoot (Beaumont, TX) and (Sister in law) Melinda (Brother in law, Adrian) Washington (Riverside, CA) Nephew O’mari Washington and Niece TaMarrah D. Oliver, Captain in the United States Army (Houston, TX). He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews; (special mention) (Niece) Simona and Donnie Thomas, (Nephew) Ayden Thomas, Simeon and Prince Hanks, and (Nephew) Thomas Lightfoot, Jr.
