Went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 6, 2015. He was born on December 3, 1940 to Louis and Bertha Walton in DeBerry, Texas. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Debra Walton; daughters, Felisa Renee’ Williams of Desoto, TX, Mary Louise Walton, Patricia Gail Walton, and Stella Denise Walton of Lubbock, TX, and Imani Rhea Walton of Plano, TX; sons, Felton Ray Walton Jr. of Midland, TX, John Gregory Walton (Regina) of Lubbock, TX, and Benjamin Louis Walton of Plano, TX; brother, Leon Ray Walton (Alee) of Phoenix, AZ; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lu Henry Walton and Oliver Ray Walton; and sisters, Velma Walton Bradshaw and Bertha Nell Walton.
He lived in Texas all of his life and loved to work. He worked for Price Realty in apartment maintenance and as a porter for 17 years. All through his treatment he’d tell the doctor “I’m ready to go back to work.” He loved to watch football and basketball. He never once lost touch with the Dallas Cowboys. He was one of the most social people you would ever meet. He was a good husband and father. He was very laid back, most times a little too laid back. He had a true love for Snickers candy bars, Blue Bell ice cream, and Big Red.
He will be missed.
Visitation for Ray will be on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ted Dickey Funeral Home. Service will be on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ted Dickey Funeral Home.
