Glinda is survived by her devoted sons, Jon Lee Coleman and wife Mandy and Aaron Coleman and fiancé Kristi Angelo. Nana, as she was known by her Grandchildren Victoria Pritchett and husband Justin, Hunter Coleman and wife Rachel, Conner, Charlotte, Malloree and Preslee, and her Great-Grand boys Cooper and Jaxon. Her family brought her such joy and happiness and she treasured the memories and their times together.
Glinda is also survived by her sister Marilyn Snyder and husband VJ of Odessa, Sister-in-Law Kathy Martin of Odessa, Brother-in-Law B.D. Berryhill also of Odessa, and her much loved Sister in Law Patsey Coleman of Lubbock. Our special College Sister Valerie Lane of St. Catherines Ontario, Canada.
Glinda was born on September 19, 1942 to Lee D. and Maudie Martin in Coffeeville, Tennessee. As a Christian woman having been baptized at an early age, she attended services at Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa Tx and later at Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock Tx.
Glinda and her husband Jon Carroll Coleman had celebrated 47 wonderful years together.
Glinda’s journey was predated by the loss of her beloved husband Jon Carroll in 2015, her Parents Lee D. and Maudie Martin, and her loving siblings Sister Catherine Berryhill and “little” brother Lee Don Martin Jr. as well as her brother-in-law Roy Don Coleman.
Glinda had a radiant spirit and a friendly demeanor and never met a stranger. She was a skillful crafter and loved sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting, making special treasures for her family and friends. She was active in the quilt guild in Lubbock teaching beginning students her love. In addition, she taught at Hancock Fabrics and Hobby Lobby for many years. Glinda volunteered her time to the Textile Department at the South Plains Fair as a committee member in writing the rules and establishing the various divisions for quilt entries. Sharing her “creations” as she called them - quilts, blankets, throws, or crocheting was knowing you received something of remarkable talent and unconditional love.
She deeply cherished the moments shared with her wide circle of friends and family. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion as a daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, defined by her boundless love and infectious laughter. The countless friendships she formed throughout her life were treasured and lifelong.
She embraced life’s twists and turns with courage and a grin, rarely accepting NO for and answer.
She would fondly recall many joyful years spent celebrating holidays and special gatherings with her parents and family.
Glinda spent her final days at San Remo in Richardson, Texas surrounded by new friends.
As we say goodbye to Glinda/Nana, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who loved deeply and left a beautiful imprint on the hearts of many.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 14th at 11am at Faith Baptist Church in Lubbock Tx.
