

Harry (Tiny) Franklin Powell II of Plano, TX passed away peacefully December 31, 2010, from a long struggle with illness. He was born on February 6, 1941, in Abilene, TX. He graduated from Duncanville High School and ended his term with the US Navy Reserve in 1961. He retired after 10 years with Ericsson as a Software Engineer.
He was a Past Master of the Plano Masonic Lodge and Lodge secretary for 25 years. He was honored to serve as Grand Tiler for the Grand Lodge of Texas, District Deputy Grand Master Masonic District 9-B, and a 32degree Scottish Rite Mason. He loved to help the Scottish Rite hospital at Christmas by visiting the children as Santa Claus since 1998. He was also a member of the York Rite and Shrine. He was Past Patron of the Plano Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and an advisor for Plano Assembly International Order of the Rainbow Girls. He received his DeMolay Legion of Honor in 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ethel Powell of Plano; son, Ronald Powell and his fiancé Toni Barkley of Atlanta, TX, daughter, Terri Riffe and her husband Aaron of Wylie, grandchildren, Madison, Austin and Megan Riffe; brothers, John and James Powell and one sister, Betty Pogue. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from six to eight o'clock in the evening, Monday, January 3, 2011. The Funeral Service will be at three o'clock in the afternoon, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Chapel of Ted Dickey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
