

John (Johnny) T. Comte III, 61, died Friday, September 13, 2019 as a result of a stroke brought on by a 30-year fight with Diabetes. John was born in 1957 in Dallas, TX on November 22nd. He was a graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, TX in 1976 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Philosophy in 1980 from Baylor University, Waco, TX. As a child, John attended First Baptist Church in Dallas and was active member of Children’s Choirs and Youth Choirs. It was during this time that he developed a great passion for all kinds of music (classical, rock, blues and jazz), and he participated in church and school choirs through his high school years.
John started his professional career in the optometry field where he quickly distinguished himself in the lab. In 1988, John began working with Dr. Arnold Stokol at Arnold M Stokol, O.D. and Associates where he enjoyed an almost 30 year tenure. John was highly regarded by his colleagues and customers. In 2013 John was featured in a Dallas Morning News article about the importance of eye care. John was an avid sports lover and enjoyed spending time with his friends watching and discussing football. John loved his family and friends deeply and always remembered them in a special way. John truly lived life on his own terms and stayed true to his ideals.
