Kathrine was a sweet and kind soul. She and Rodney made us feel welcome to the neighborhood and was always there to lend a hand. Kathrine helped me with an class assignment and we talked for hours after she helped me. The way Cathrine told her stories were mesmerizing almost at if you are living the stories with her. One time she was dropping off some peppers from her garden and asked if we had anything planned with them. And we told her we make amazing salsa with them. She smiled and asked if we put salsa on everything and we said we do. She then laughed and said “that’s me with ketchup. I would put ketchup on everything if I could” and we all shared a laugh together. We couldn’t have asked for amazing neighbors like the Gants. Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to the Gant family

There are no words to adequately describe how much I love her. She is missed beyond measure. My "mommy dearest"
was the perfect example of what a mother, wife and friend should be. Mom was funny, kind, loving, patient, quiet, she was a great cook, she loved to read cookbooks and had a huge collection of them! She took thousands of secrets to her grave. She never divulged a secret or spoke bad of anyone. She is in heaven walking the streets of gold with dad. I can see them walking hand in hand. I will see them again one day but for now my heart aches for just one more day with both of them.

My Mom, Katherine Gant ,never climbed Mount Everest. She never won a triathlon. She did not win any impressive trophies. Her accomplishments were far greater than those things. She loved me unconditionally. She believed in me. She put food in my belly and clothes on my back. She put band-aids on my boo-boos and mended my broken heart more than once. She taught me to love Jesus. She taught me to be kind to others. While her accomplishments may have gone unnoticed by the world at large, they did not go unnoticed by me. She along with my Dad, filled our house with love and laughter. I was so blessed to have had her as my Mom. She will be missed.

Katherine and her family visited us in 1966 at Deckers,Colorado.
We lived right on a stream on 40 acres and they all camped in tents in our front yard. It got really cold and everyone ended up coming into the house and sleeping on the floor. We had a wonderful visit with them cooking outside and taking hikes in the area.
Katherine was a great mom, wife and friend. ❤

Katherine was my brother Rodney's wife and my lifelong friend since we were in 2nd grade together.
Katherine was not critical of others.
She loved her family and friends and get-togethers. She exemplified the Bible verses: "Blessed are the peacemakers" and "If at all possible be at peace with all men". It came natural to her.
We will miss you Katherine.
Love,
Rachel Gant Barrier
