Larry Lynn Hurt was born on January 31, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas to C.E. Hurt, Sr. and Nola Smith Hurt. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1955, and went on to study and earn degrees at Amarillo College, Texas Tech, and West Texas State University. Larry married Linda Sue Camp in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Amarillo on April 12, 1968. He was a computer programmer for several years working for IBM until retirement, and then Comp USA, Anderson Merchandisers, and finally Morgan Buildings and Spas. Because of his faith and belief in Jesus, Larry was very active in his church from singing in the choir, leading and directing adult and youth Bible studies, to serving as a deacon or in any way he could. Second only to his faith, he loved his family beyond measure. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he truly loved his entire extended family whether by blood or marriage. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sandra, his oldest son Scott, and his wife Linda. He is survived by his son Todd (Sandy) of Friendswood, Tx, his daughter Suzanne of Plano, Tx, his son Jeff (Emily) of Sherman, Tx, his grandchildren Meaghann and DJ of Plano, Tx, and several nieces and nephews.
