

Marilyn Ruth King Vaughan was born on June 16, 1933, in Queens, New York and passed away on April 21, 2015 in Plano, Texas. She attended Keuka College and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Marilyn is survived by her two sons, David Vaughan and Mark Vaughan, daughter-in-law, Susan Vaughan, son-in-law, Said Kaci, granddaughter, Amber Vaughan and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Vaughan Kaci.
Marilyn worked for the University of Texas at Dallas as a research assistant in molecular biology/biophysics until her retirement in 1996. After retirement and to date, she worked as a substitute teacher for the Plano Independent School District, teaching advanced Algebra and Pre-Calculus. She also tutored many students of all ages in math. She was a highly intelligent woman, dedicating herself to the advancement of young minds.
Marilyn was an avid reader, loved swimming, traveling, cruises and enjoyed her family and many friends. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Plano Public Library System would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Marilyn on Saturday, May 9, from 5:30P to 8:30P at the Environmental Education Center, 4116 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093.
