

Friends and Family will gather at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX, 75074 on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for a visitation. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Robert was born on June 20, 1929, in Texarkana, Texas, to Lucille and Raymond Boone and was raised in Simms, Texas.
On August 18, 1950, Robert married the love of his life, Barbara Brock. Together they shared a devoted and faithful marriage that spanned decades and laid the foundation for a strong, close-knit family. They began their family life in Dallas, Texas, and throughout Robert’s career moved to Woodland Hills, California; Wichita, Kansas; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and eventually settled in Plano, Texas.
Robert devoted his entire professional career to General Portland Cement, where through hard work, integrity, and leadership he worked his way up to General Manager and Financial Controller. He retired at the age of 55 and spent his retirement years in Plano, Texas.
A man of deep and unwavering faith, Robert was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Plano, Texas, where he was recently honored with the title of Elder Emeritus. His relationship with God was the cornerstone of his life, and his tremendous faith in Jesus guided everything he did.
In his younger years, Robert played semi-professional baseball and later developed a lifelong passion for the game of golf. He was known for his wisdom, honesty, sense of humor, and steady presence.
Robert was a loving husband, devoted father, and the true patriarch of his family. He is survived by his children Kenneth and wife Janet Boone, Susan and husband Thomas O’Connor, and Laurie and husband Joseph Henry; his grandchildren Pete and wife Brandilyn O’Connor, Jarrod and wife Claire O’Connor, Cory Henry, Cody and wife Kaleigh Henry; and his great-grandchildren Jayden O’Connor, Thomas O’Connor, Mason O’Connor, and Ellie Henry; beloved sister and brothers in-laws, Sue and Dale Massey, Thomas Brock; and family members Ismael Guerrero, Emily Guerrero ,Alisa Guerrero, Elizabeth Bialecki, Jeffrey Paul Bialecki, Kristy Ligon and Jordan Keel of whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Boone; his son Robert Boone Jr; his parents Lucille and Raymond Boone; his sister and brother in-law Patsy and Horace Branton.
Robert Byron Boone will be remembered as a man of faith, love, and steadfast devotion—a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose legacy lives on in the generations he cherished so deeply. Above all else—other than his faith—his family was the most important part of his life.
