Out of all the things that brought him joy, he had a real passion for bowling and baseball. His status in bowling was immortalized in 1999 when he was inducted into the Dallas Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and again in 2015 when he joined his father, Lewis Ray, in the Texas State Bowling Hall of Fame.
He is predeceased by his wife JoAnn Ray. Stephen is survived by his son Aaron Ray and daughter in law Kristyn, his son Gerald Ray, sister Cynthia Kennedy and nephews Bruce and Sean Kennedy, brother Kelly Ray, and many more beloved family.
Although he left us too soon, his infectious spirit and big heart leave lasting impressions with anyone who met or knew him.
