Princess Tennille has gone to Heaven, landing in the arms of her Prince Charming Daddy. Tennille Jo Meier, beloved daughter, dog mom and rescuer, health guru, and dedicated friend, passed away too soon on Friday, April 22, 2022. Tennille was born on March 1, 1977, at Medical City Plano (f/k/a Plano General Hospital) to loving parents, Granville “Buddy” Joseph Meier (1944-2006) of Rosebud, Texas, and Pamela Rhea Braswell of Paris, Texas. Tennille and her family regularly attended St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Plano, Texas, and she was a current member of Hope Fellowship in Frisco, Texas. She graduated from Plano East Senior High in 1995 and was part of the Golden Girls Drill Team and later graduated from Texas Tech University in 1999 with dual Bachelor’s degrees in International Business and Fashion Merchandising, minoring in Economics. Tennille was an active member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority (Social Chair leadership position), participated in the Fashion Board service sorority, and the International Business Society. She returned to Texas Tech after graduation for an additional year of study and became a certified STOTT Pilates® Instructor. Tennille was also a member of the Sirens Dance Squad for the Texas Tornado Hockey League during the 2012-2013 season.
Most notably, Tennille lived her life with a purpose. In her own words, she was a “voice for the voiceless” on behalf of children and dogs. She began dance lessons at the age of two, instilling her passion into the young children at the multiple studios where she taught. Every holiday, she would bring homemade gifts to the tiny dancers she adored. She recently served as Vice President of Mini Mutts Animal Rescue and assisted with multiple other dog rescue organizations.
Tennille was first introduced to Pilates in 2002 when she was recovering from a serious car accident. Being a health advocate, she wanted to avoid relying on medication the rest of her life. She began seeking alternative ways to overcome chronic back pain and found Pilates. Shortly after learning the classical Joseph Pilates method, she was pain free and sold on the value of Pilates. Throughout her advanced training, she was fascinated by the similarities between Pilates and Dance. Tennille’s professional Accomplishments include Personal Private Pilates Trainer to Grammy Award-Winning Artist Sting, multiple professional NFL players and was the Pilates Instructor for the 2008 Regional Dance America Festival.
