Shirley was born June 1, 1944 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey to the late Joseph Olexa and Anna Cap.
Shirley celebrated life every day and embraced everyone she ever meet, you always parted with a smile on your face! Shirley would be the first one to pull a practical joke or have a skit ready to entertain, she loved to see others laugh. Shirley retired from the NJ phone company where she meet the “Love of her Life” Paul. They both had a passion for music which led to her learning how to play the bass guitar mentored by Paul. They spent over a decade playing various venues in Tampa, Florida as the “Just Friends” band and she was known as “Granny Bassline”!
Shirley was vibrant just like the beach she loved, she learned and taught the hula dance and performed shows for fun. She was an awesome cook and loved teaching her grands how to make her famous pierogis and halupki’s. Shirley never met a stranger and touched the lives of everyone who knew her, she will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Biese of 30 years and his daughters, Julie Favila, and Christina Faria. Her sons, Curtis A. Temples, Joseph E. Temples, daughter-in-law, Kelley Haselden, sister, Elizabeth (Bess) Kelly.
