

James M. Robertson, age 55, a resident of Plant City, passed away on March 29, 2011 after a 4+ year battle with ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease). Jim was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and was commissioned as an officer in the US Army upon graduation from Florida State University. Jim was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country for 12 years as a helicopter scout platoon and company commander in multiple locations in the US, the DMZ of South Korea and Sinai Peninsula in the Middle East. He and his family moved to Plant City 16 years ago from Fort Hood, Texas. Survivors include his daughter Ashley, Graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF), his son Sean, a junior at UCF, his wife, Mary Shinall Robertson, married for 28 years; brothers Kenny Robertson and his wife Karen, of San Francisco, CA, and Michael Robertson and his wife Fiona Beattie of Mission, KA; his mom, Jeannette Robertson of Winter Haven,
FL; and his dad, Jim Warren of Denver, CO. Family & friends will celebrate Jim's life at his home on Monday, Apil 4th 2011 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.In lieu of flowers, Jim would like donations be sent in his name to the James A Haley VA Hospital, Attention: Voluntary Services, 13000 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612.
