POWELL, Maxine Francis, age 83, passed away on December 23, 2014 at her home in Brandon, Florida. Maxine was born in Macon, Georgia on August 13, 1931 to Owen and Maude Buchanan. She liked butterflies and was an animal lover who was known to take in strays including squirrels, raccoons, dogs, a talking crow and even a rat. She enjoyed watching tv and playing cards with her family.
She is predeceased by her first husband, A.C. Powell; sister, Hazel Roberson; son, Adrian Clinton Powell and brother-in-law, James Sprouse.
She leaves behind her son, Arise LaDon "Don" Powell; sister, Beatrice Sprouse and granddaughter, Alicia Powell.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014, 2pm at Wells Memorial in Plant City, Florida. Visitation will begin at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Limona Cemetery in Brandon, Florida.
