Ricardo Cruz

passed peacefully on January 19, 2022

due to complications of Covid-19.

He was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico

to Secundina Andaluz and Francisco Cruz on July 8, 1942.

Our dad was the type of man that never met someone that wasn’t a friend.

He was kind, giving, gentle, and always had a smile that could brighten your day.

He loved to be outdoors and you could usually find him fishing,

tending to his garden, or working on a car.

The most important thing to dad was his family,

and he was the absolute most amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He taught us all the importance of family and made sure we knew love.

Words cannot express how much he will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Josefa Rubio, and daughter Lateshia Cruz.

He is survived by his children Rick Cruz of Buford, GA; Lecuenda Long of Lakeland, FL;

Amanda Cruz of Lakeland, FL; Mellisa Cruz of Lakeland, FL; Angel Cruz of Mulberry, FL;

Kaylin Shipley of Winter Haven, FL; and Liliana Rubio of Moultrie, GA

in addition to 30 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren

and many extended family members.

Services will be held

Tuesday, February 1, 2022

from 12 noon-2p.m.

at Wells Memorial Funeral Home
