

Rick was born on September 27, 1946, in Streator, Illinois to parents Frank and Catherine (Hart) Devera. He graduated from Streator High School in 1964 and was employed at Owens-Illinois for 15 years before retiring and relocating to Lakeland, Florida in 1979. He was employed by Publix for 15 years and then South Florida Baptist Hospital as a security officer for the next 20 years until retirement.
Rick is survived by his children: daughter, Lisa (Mark) LeBlanc and grandchildren, Mark Jr. and Nicholas LeBlanc of Conroe, Texas; son, Matthew (Joelene) Devera and grandchildren, Makenzie and Luke Devera of Lakeland, Florida; daughter, Michelle (Mike) Singletary and granddaughter, Vaeda Singletary of Plant City, Florida.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald (Jerry) Devera of Rockford, Illinois, his daughter Elizabeth Ann Flynn of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rick loved playing chess, doing all kinds of puzzles (especially Sudoku), drawing pictures, going to the casino, dabbling in the stock market, and spending time with his friends. He was an avid bowler and billiards player during his life.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 6th, at Wells Memorial and Event Center at 1903 W. Reynolds Street Plant City, Florida 33563 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with burial immediately after at Memorial Park Cemetery.
