

Cornell, Shirley Jean, 83, of Plant City entered into Heaven’s Gates on April 14, 2020. She was born on March 31, 1937 in Plant City, Florida to Johnnie H. and Charlsie E. Boswell Preston. She was a lifelong Plant City resident and of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Her hobbies included gardening, which she was well known for having a green thumb and being able to grow anything and it was always beautiful, she loved singing and crocheting and making crafts and floral arrangements to share with everyone. She also had a ceramic shop and made beautiful ceramic pieces and shared them as well. She could also be seen at local flea markets selling her wares and cypress clocks, all of which were beautifully hand made by her. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family. She was pre-deceased in death by her parents; Johnnie and Charlsie Preston, her first husband, Charlie D. Brannon; twin infant daughters, Patricia and Lacritia Brannon; sisters; Judy A. Watkins and Rosa L. Simpson. Her survivors include, her husband; Charles E. Cornell, daughters; Dianne Pippin (Eugene), Linda Simpson (Carlos Mullis), sons; Daniel Brannon (Patty) and James Brannon, Grandchildren; Rene’ Miller (Jerry), Terry Pippin (Tina), Ronnie Simpson (Tiffany), Danielle Browning, Jacob Brannon, Misty Odom (John), and Jessica Lewis (Casey), 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, brother; Wayne Preston (Eddice), sisters; Betty LeMaster, Johnnie Leamon (Donald), Martha Baxter, and Patsy Watkins, and a multitude of nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and friends.
