Harrison, Virginia (Cannon), age 72, of Plant City, FL passed away on August 20, 2017. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, loved animals, and was the best homemade ice cream maker. She also loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverley Harrison. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Harrison; daughter, Sheri McDonald; grandson, Cannon McDonald; "adopted" son, Jeremy Beaty who we first met at the age of nine when he came to our farm looking to make a little money out in the fields. He also helped us deliver produce to local grocery stores. We were so impressed with his work ethic, honesty, courage and his continued love and respect for our family through the years. We watched Jeremy turn into the fine, honorable person he is today. We would like to thank Kay, his mother, for sharing him with us for the past 30 plus years; "adopted" daughter, Cleide Tanabe of Sao Paulo, Brazil who came into our home and hearts in 1982 through the Youth for Understanding International Student Exchange program. We would like to thank her parents for allowing her to spend that first year with us as it was the beginning of what would become a lifelong relationship.
She is also survived by brothers; Marvin Cannon (Gloria) and Robert Cannon; sisters, Linda Wimberly (Jerry) and Janet (Peter) Balistreri and her loving friend Lisa Seaworth.
Funeral Services will be held at Bethany Baptist Church on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to Florida Baptist Children's Homes in Lakeland, FL
