Born and raised in Montreal, Angela had a deep love for teaching and learning. After graduating from MacDonald College, she pursued a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher, where she touched the lives of many young students. A lifelong lover of music, Angela was a proud member of the Sweet Adelines for many years and performed in a quartet as well. She also took great joy in dance and remained active throughout her life—enjoying jazz ballet, ballroom dancing, golf, cross-country skiing, and a variety of other sports and activities. Angela had a spirited love of travel and also found great happiness in spending time with her family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Bill, Jamie (Maureen), and Anne-Marie. Angela was a proud grandmother to Natasha, Christopher, Ashley, Kaila, Carter, Logan, Chase, and Griffin. She also leaves behind her dear nieces and nephews and many other beloved family members and friends.
Angela was predeceased by her first husband, Peter Halikas, with whom she raised her family, and by her cherished later-life partner, Roger Ethier, her parents, Denis and Mary; and her siblings, Nick and Helen.
A small private family gathering was held to celebrate Angela’s life. Her incredible resilience, ability to remain young at heart, and her fun-loving spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Her ashes will be interred at Ste-Geneviève Cemetery beside her beloved partner, Roger Ethier.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada:
