Though I'm sad to see you go, I am grateful that you were in my life the last ten years.  I will cherish the Hawaiin songs and the musical talents that you had.  Thank you for serving our country, for being Danny's Grandpa, and for always making me feel like family.




I'm very lucky to have known you and to have you as my grandfather. I'm even more lucky  to have had you as a grandfather for 44yrs.  In that time you shared many stories about your work on the railway, and being in the war.  I always enjoyed listening to your stories about your visits to NYC.  I will miss sitting in the kitchen and listening to you play the ukulele.  Thank you for the great memories Grandpa, may you rest in peace. God Bless.....

Dear Grandpa, you worked hard in the best and the worst of times, you went through World War II without a scratch, maybe a few broken ukulele strings. You were lucky. Was it the dandelions you ate that gave you longevity? Perhaps, as that is what you said; that you would never be ill and you were right. We celebrated your 100th birthday just a short while ago and of course, you were the life of the party, the entertainer. You had the gift of gab and loved your Guinness with a neck. A storyteller you were. Your recounts of your trials and tribulations throughout the years taught us who you were, what you were faced with, how you dealt with it. There was much to learn and much to thank you for. I thank you for your gift and love of music, I thank you for our all-niters, your witty humour but most of all, I thank you for being my grandfather. When we learned of your passing, Uncle Jim said, "Daddy's with mommy up in Heaven now, Daddy was a good father." He is so right. May you RIP, watch over us and Aloha, a hui hou."
