Barbara Aylett Wittet, a talented watercolor artist and devoted mother, passed away peacefully in Montreal, Canada, surrounded by family. Born in the UK, her English roots inspired her love for literature, gardens, and nature. After marrying Alistair, she settled in Montreal, raising four children and instilling in them a passion for art and family.
A member of the Lakeshore Artists Association, Barbara’s delicate paintings captured landscapes, florals, and seascapes, often inspired by her gardens in Hudson, Quebec, and her cherished second home in Kennebunk, Maine, where she found peace by the sea.
Remembered for her quiet strength and artistic spirit, Barbara’s legacy lives on through her paintings and loved ones. She is survived by her four children, Deborah (predeceased by spouse Don Wilkinson), Neil (spouse Karin), Chris, and Kyle (spouse Lynn), her granddaughter Alanna, and many whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to local arts organizations or garden societies.
