Beverley was the beloved wife of the late Bryan Gregor-Pearse. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Mark Gregor-Pearse and Eric Gregor-Pearse, and a cherished grandmother to her grandson, Kyle Gregor-Pearse.
After dedicating herself to raising her two sons, Beverley pursued her academic aspirations, returning to school to earn her Bachelor of Commerce degree at McGill University (Class of 1983). Her determination and passion for learning were an inspiration to her family and friends. She began her career in education as a substitute teacher at many of the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal schools located on the West Island. She eventually became a full-time employee in the Guidance Office at Riverdale High School and ultimately finished her career in education as the Chief Planning Officer for the PSBGM and subsequently, the English Montreal School Board.
Beverley was known for her many personal traits, including her warmth, intelligence, and dedication. She always had time to listen to peoples’ problems and was always able to provide support and advice. She loved volunteer work, especially if it had a community impact. She helped raise money for the new Lakeshore General Hospital and worked on the plans for the VGCA swimming pool. She was active in Brownies and Big Sisters, The Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal, and was a valued volunteer at Meals on Wheels at St. Matthias' Anglican Church.
She was an excellent self-taught chef and loved to prepare gourmet meals for family and friends. She was an avid cross-country and downhill skier, and she enjoyed many weekends with Bryan and their friends at the Laurentian Lodge. She helped organize her Westmount High School 50-year class reunion, which reconnected many old high school friends.
She is survived by her sons, Mark and Eric, her grandson, Kyle, her sister Connie Kenney (Ted), and her brother Warren Franklin (Norah) and by many nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bryan, her parents, Mary Millicent Franklin and Harold Fraser Franklin, and her bother Sydney Franklin. Beverley’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Beverley’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 7 at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Homes, 5600 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal.
A private internment at the National Field of Honour in Pointe-Claire with Bryan will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the Old Brewery Mission, or a charity of your choice.
