Pat passed away peacefully in Montreal on January 31, 2020 at the age of 90. Born in Fredericton, NB he lived his teenage years in New Glasgow, NS before moving to Halifax and later to Montreal.He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret Thériault, their children Patrick (Diane), Stephen (Andrea), Julie (Terry) and Tim, grandchildren Stephen, Christopher (Gabrielle), Artem (Maija), Suren, Nina and Martin, great-grandchildren Margaret and Edward, sisters Carmel O’Doherty, Marie Power, Anne MacDonald (Jack), and a brother Cyril (Madeleine). He was predeceased by his brother Edward and sister Doreen (Brian).Pat graduated from Sir George Williams University (Concordia) in 1965. His strong leadership and integrity were hallmarks that followed him through a successful career in the manufacturing and distribution of construction products across Canada.Active in construction associations at local, provincial and national levels, Pat served on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Construction Association (Ottawa) as Honorary Treasurer and was President of the Calgary Construction Association. He received awards for leadership and for promoting educational and career opportunities for women in the construction industry. In addition to his participation in industry associations, he generously contributed his time to his community throughout the years. A born pianist, he excelled at stride piano which brought joy to family and friends on countless social occasions and events.Resting at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20,Pointe-Claire.Visitation on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick’s Basilica, 460 René Lévesque Blvd. West, Montreal, on Friday, February 7 at 10:30 AM.Interment in Fredericton later.The family would like to thank the medical and health professionals at Lakeshore General Hospital for their tremendous care.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Patrick’s Restoration Foundation.
