from Montreal Quebec and Nepean Ontario, passed away from heart failure on Saturday November 23, 2019 after having celebrated her 86th birthday with family on Friday November 22nd. Married to Tom Wolfenden (deceased in 1998) for 46 years, with three children, Dianne (Mike Belanger), Dan (Sheila Johnson) and Debra (Rick Parson). Grandchildren, Paul Belanger, Neil Belanger (Rachel Wood), Jessica Wolfenden (Fede Vallerino), Haley Wolfenden (Jamie McAllister), Kelsey Wolfenden and Connor MacMillan, her great grandchild Ophelia, and her incoming "little sister to be" in March 2020.
Daughter of Leonidas Dumoulin and Jeanne Charland, Claire had two brothers Guy Dumoulin and Peter Dumoulin, with a special mention of her "other brother" Oscar Charland. Nieces Monique, Carole, Jeannine, Shirley-Ann, Connie, Suzie, Peggy, Debbie (McCarter), and nephews Denis, Albert, Peter, Leo, David, Stephen and Larry. We will all miss her laugh and outspoken discussions at family gatherings!
Having grown up in Verdun Montreal, followed by over twenty years in Ste Rose, Laval with her family, she enjoyed a network of neighbourhood friends and Bell Canada bonds. She then moved to Ottawa and lived in both Bells Corners and Stittsville for over 38 years where she developed an interesting network of fellow line dancers, bingo buddies and kindred shoppers! Shopping was a sport with Claire - and she was really good at it!
Claire enjoyed over 25 years going to Florida with Tom and being the social organizer for various Panama City Horizon South parties, line dancing, bingo calling, and group events. She continued that tradition in Stittsville, and again at her senior's residence in Pointe-Claire. Many thanks to all the people who shared laughs, events and time with her.
Those who knew Claire came to realize that she could not resist any social gathering, and in fact, suffered from FOMO (fear of missing out)! We know this is a common trait in the family! Her love of dancing, music, socializing at group events, with food at the core of every event stems from her French Canadian heritage where food was an important bonding ingredient with family and friends. In memory of that, and in lieu of flowers, please donate to one of two food banks (in her honour if you wish):

Services
Claire did not want a funeral service, but rather, a small opportunity for people to celebrate her life with a drink, storytelling and of course, a little food. Dancing is always encouraged and welcome! Similarly, she loved vibrant colours, and in particular - RED, or lots of BLING with any "outfit"! We suggest that if you are going to join us for a toast and story sharing, that you wear a little red or as much bling as you want to represent and capture her love of life.
In Montreal - Sunday December 15th at 2pm - 4pm (open house) - Le Selection Residence Family Room 15 Place de la Triade, Pointe Claire, Quebec
In Ottawa - we will delay the memorial for Claire until early Summer when the Wolfenden's, some from out of country, can gather together with Claire's great grandchildren and other family members who are traveling.
Internment for Mom will take place in the Summer where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Tom at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kanata. Surely there will be a party with the Wolfendens and Dumoulins to remember!
