Gilles Cloutier

Born on October 1sr 1939, to Patricia Routier and Aimé Cloutier, Gilles was the third of three children : Claudette, Denis and Gilles. He lived his childhood in Laval des Rapides and preferring to be outside the big city, lived most of his adult life in the Laurentians.

As a child, owning to the fact that his mother had a pet store, he enjoyed the company of animals, even having a live teddy bear for a bit. He attended Jesuit school but left at an early age. Through the 1960s, when in his twenties, he travelled and explored North America. Adding to his travels, he would later visit France, Puerto Rico and Tahiti.

As an entrepreneur he endeavoured at a variety of occupations : horse trainer, antique dealer and store owner, bailiff, real estate agent and finally store owner of a New Age art store.

In 1975 he married and became step-father to three girls: Stephanie (Sean), Charlotte (Mike) and Laetitia (Jason). He was foster parent to Mike McCann and father to Alexandre. He has 6 grandchildren, (Christopher, Zoë, Nicholas, Kylie, Ariana and Megan) 2 step grandchildren (Sarah and Rachel) and a great grandson (Richard)

He will be remembered and missed by many whose lives he has touched.

Né le 1er octobre 1939, ces parents: Patricia Routier et Aimé Cloutier, Gilles est le cadet de trois enfants : Claudette, Denis et Gilles. Il a vécu son enfance à Laval des Rapides et, préférant être en dehors de la grande ville, a vécu la majeure partie de sa vie adulte dans les Laurentides.

Enfant, du fait que sa mère avait un a magasin d'animaux, il aimait bien la compagnie des animaux, ayant même un ourson vivant pendant un certain temps. Il a fréquenté l'école des Jésuites mais l'a quittée à un jeune âge. Dans les années 1960, alors qu'il était dans sa avait une vingtaine, il a voyagé et exploré l'Amérique du Nord. En plus de ses voyages, il visitera plus tard la France, le Puerto Rico et Tahiti.

En tant qu'entrepreneur, il a exercé diverses professions : entraîneur de chevaux, antiquaire et propriétaire de magasin, huissier, agent immobilier et enfin propriétaire d'un magasin d'art New Age.

En 1975, il se marie et devient le beau-père de trois filles : Stephanie (Sean), Charlotte (Mike) et Laetitia (Jason). Il a été parent adoptif de Mike McCann et est père d'Alexandre Cloutier. Il a 6 petits-enfants (Christopher, Zoë, Nicholas, Kylie, Ariana et Megan), 2 petits-enfants par alliance (Sarah et Rachel) et un arrière-petit-fils (Richard).

Il restera dans les mémoires et manquera a beaucoup de ceux dont il a touché la vie.
