

Irene Gendron (née Imhoff), of Pointe-Claire, passed away peacefully on April 17th at the Lachine Hospital, at the age of 93.
Irene was born on March 17th, 1932, on a beautiful farm in New Carlisle, Québec. The third eldest child to Frederick and Emily (née Labrecque) Imhoff.
In 1960, while working for CN in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Irene met the love of her life, Richard Gendron and married on May 19th, 1962. Moving to Montreal in 1971, where they raised two daughters, Sue (Mike) and Monique (Peter) and later welcomed three grand-daughters, Rachael (Kyle), Norah and Fiona.
Predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Emily Imhoff and siblings, Vera (Sam), Francis (Roseline), Eric (Marguerite), Ruth (Jim), Charles (Solange), Mary (Richard) and Gerald (Victorine).
Other than her immediate family, she is survived by sisters-in-law, Marguerite (Eric) and Roseline (Francis) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, she was a devout member of St-Luke’s Parish in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. As a parishioner, Irene will be remembered for her kind heart, enormous sense of humour, delicious baking, skilful sewing and generous soul. Irene’s most cherished part of mass was hearing Richard sing in the choir or as a cantor.
As a resident at Le Cambridge, Irene made many friends and shared lots of laughs, while sewing, knitting and baking for friends and charity events.

A mass of the Resurrection will take place at 11:00 on June 18th, 2025, followed by a reception in the church hall at St. Luke’s Parish, 106A Anselme-Lavigne, D.D.O., H9A 1N8.
