I was terribly shocked and so saddened to hear about John.  Memories came flooding back immediately.. the night of the "beach" party at Concordia, fun times at the Piacek cottage up north and how much we laughed.  Mostly though, it's John's smile and his confident but understated kind of swagger that I remember.  And of course, those dimples.  John had a rare quality of being open, always approachable, and he treated everyone as a friend.  I hadn't seen or spoken to him in a very long time but he will forever have a place in my heart. We developed a friendship in that time and I always appreciated his gentlemanly nature and professionalism.  He was always good natured and a pleasure to spend time with. Dear Mrs. English, Veronica, Alexandra, Serena and family -- I was so very sorry to hear about John's death.  I know he was a great friend of Peter's and I saw him frequently when Peter, he and their many friends (partners in hilarity) got together.  He was always friendly to my Mum, my sister and I (and our dog!), even in the dreaded teen years.  I  was very lucky to have seen him earlier this year at my brother's unmentionable birthday -- still showing the humour and caring that I remember.  My deepest condolences.
