John Albin Petersen was born on April 21, 1964, in Montreal and baptized in St. Edmund of Canterbury Church in Beaconsfield. Attended West Island College. Employed by Danesco Inc. for a number of years and then started his own company, GoWare Inc., distributor of kitchenware and agents for various lines.
Married to Ines Eisermann on April 9, 1994. They do not leave any children, but have always cared for his beloved birds, Frankie, Jasper and Aveuxtu, as well as his dogs and cat, Roady.
From his early days, John was very active in sports, especially soccer and hockey, and later - up to the present - on "senior teams", together with his brother, Ben. Among John's many hobbies was cooking. He was an excellent chef! And brewer of great beer. John had a very positive attitude towards life and had many lifetime friends, who enjoyed his company and great sense of humor!
Survived by his loving wife, Ines Eisermann, his father Knud Petersen and wife Ruth Sonksen (Chute a Blondeau, ON), his brother Ben Petersen, sister Ann Petersen-Anderson and nephew Jonathan, sister Fiona Petersen and nephew Nuala and niece Alice, sister Kathryn Petersen (Edinburgh), nephew Dominic Leroux-Petersen and wife Caitlin and children Max and Theo (Ottawa) and nephew David Leroux-Petersen and wife Lanni and children Alexis and Emma - all in the Montreal area, except as indicated in brackets.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, July 30 from 7-9 p.m. at Collins Clarke McGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, Quebec.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada/Fondation des maladies du Coeur et de l'AVC, or Doctors without Borders, or a personal choice of charity.
