

Passed away peacefully with dignity on March 2, 2011 with her three children at her bedside. Predeceased by her husband and best friend, Don, as well as her parents George and Lucille Johnson. Joy will be sadly missed by her children, Sue, Cathy (Nick) and Steven (Norma) as well as her five cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Akina, Taylor, Julia and Ben. She also leaves behind her three brothers, Michael (Gisele), Peter (Jennifer) and George (Cathy). Joy will be forever remembered for her indestructible Joy Bags with their lifetime guarantee. She also had a flair for transforming "fixer-uppers" into beautiful, warm and bright homes/shops/apartments, her shared enjoyment for Ocean Park, Maine and her love of red wine. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Marie Yaremko, Dr. Nilay Ozen, and the wonderful ICU nurses at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care. A special thanks to Dr. Elias Matouk for always bringing a smile to Joy throughout her tough 5 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis as he always went above and beyond, including his special talent for always finding Joy during her numerous hospitalizations, even on weekends.
